Welcome to Our Club
Rotary members believe we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. By connecting passionate people with diverse perspectives, we exchange ideas, forge lifelong friendships, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace.
As part of Rotary International—which began right here in Chicago in 1905—the Rotary Club of Palatine is a civic service organization of business, professional, and community leaders. Founded on March 2, 1964, our club has been serving the Village of Palatine and surrounding communities for over 60 years.
Local Impact & Community Projects
Our dedicated group of around 30 active members works year-round to support local charities and enrich our town. Over the decades, we have spearheaded and funded numerous landmark local projects, including:
The Firefighter's Memorial
The Towne Square Gazebo
The Accessible Playground at Salt Creek Park District
Rotary Plaza (at Palatine and Plum Grove Roads)
Community trees and benches along Wood Street
Palatine Oktoberfest & Our Foundation
Our primary annual fundraiser is the downtown Palatine Oktoberfest—a vibrant, family-friendly weekend (with Saturday dedicated as Family Day) that brings together people of all ages and backgrounds.
To manage our charitable efforts, we established The Rotary Club of Palatine Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Revenues raised from Oktoberfest and direct donations flow through our Foundation to aid those in need locally and support vital global causes. (Donations may be tax-deductible; please consult a tax professional for advice.)
Global Reach
Beyond our local borders, our Foundation collaborates on critical international projects, including:
Clean water and nutrition initiatives in Guatemala
Literacy and school support in Africa, Haiti, Jamaica, and India
ShelterBox emergency rescue systems worldwide
Global Polio Eradication: Alongside Rotary International, we are committed to wiping out polio globally—joining smallpox as a disease that no longer threatens humanity.
